Hi, I saw your post on the UCSC Reddit and I thought i'd take a stab at checking out your game!

So after a little less than 10 min, I was able I beat your game . Granted, I love playing video-games so it was pretty easy for me to get a quick understanding of the control scheme. So far pretty good! I did have one issue with the game with my play test though (Which probably made it too easy to beat).

I'm not sure if its intentional or not, but in "free-flight" (where the character is not touching any objects and is floating in space after jumping) I was able to manipulate the astronauts flight path with the W, A, S, D or ARROW keys. Knowing that, I could skip levels like Level 12 that had expected me to use the new polarity mechanic you introduced in Level 11, and in other levels. For me, instead of trying out the new mechanics, I would simply avoid them.

Now, this is not necessary a bad thing, Its up to you and your team if this helps or hinders the design goal of the game. If you wanted to, you could just add that as a feature and call it a day. You could say that the astronaut has a thruster pack that allows them to do that. I would argue that removing that might be better for the game feel itself, because in space, you cant propel yourself forward without an outside force. It would be further emphasize the line:

"You must use your knowledge of physics and the objects around you to get back to the airlock!"

Or if you wanted to, do a mix of both! Where the astronaut can change their direction with a thruster pack, but it runs on fuel. That way you can still have that astronaut be manipulable by the player, and not be the "easy way" of beating levels.

Again this is just a something I thought about when playing the game so you can do whatever your team feels right for the game (Or whatever you have the time to do). I would also like to see your sound/music style for the game as well. Overall, pretty good, and I would like to see where you can take the game.

Hi, glad you enjoyed our game! Thank you for pointing that out to us. That's a simple debug flag that we forgot to uncheck, but we appreciate your suggestion! Our plans are to eventually extend the game to have many more levels and add increasingly complex combinations of mechanics. While a booster pack was not initially in our design, we do like your idea of using it in a limited capacity.

Music is on its way as well! Thank you also for taking the time to comment, I know most people are pretty busy. We'll keep posting updates, so keep your eyes on the devlogs. Thanks again for playing, and we'd love to hear any future feedback that you may have.

I love the concept, and the controls seem pretty sharp.  Lots of potential.  Some simple sound effects would really add a lot to the game, and even a simple royalty free chiptune set on repeat would add even more.  Overall, great first attempt, and I would love to see it fleshed out a bit more.
